BETS is an information system custom built to support educators. Finally, a practice testing system that allows for full control over the testing configurations, on-screen (immediate) feedback for the student, and flexible reporting for the educator. The BETS is constructed to create a test instance for each student from a library of questions. The test instance can be a test protocol like TABE® forms 7/8 or 9/10 or a specific formula that addresses a particular student’s weaknesses. Test instances are stored and can be recalled and applied again to the same student or a student group.
The BETS manages the test activity for one or many students simultaneously. Students progress from one question to another via a simple interface. The time spent on each question and their answers are stored for reporting. Once the student completes the test, they can request an onscreen and/or printed report.
The BETS reporting allows the educator to go beyond general diagnostics. Reporting can be generated for one student or for a user-defined group of students. It helps the educator to understand the scope of a student’s difficulties by reviewing not just whether the answer was incorrect but also how much time was spent on that question.
The BETS provides a complete solution to assist in student preparation for any basic education test.
